Hi Folks,
The MODD story keeps getting more interesting.
Modular Medical (Nasdaq: MODD) today announced another development ahead of the full commercial launch of its FDA-cleared Pivot™ insulin pump.
This time, the company is going directly after one of the biggest hurdles facing insulin pumps:
Getting patients comfortable enough to actually use them.
MODD has launched two new digital education tools designed to introduce prospective users to Pivot before formal training even begins.
And I think the timing matters.
MODD Is Building for Adoption
One of the new tools gives patients a virtual, hands-on walkthrough of Pivot.
In about 15 minutes, a prospective user can see how to unpack the system, prepare and apply the pump, and understand its basic functions.
Think about what MODD is trying to accomplish here.
The company isn't waiting until a patient receives the device to begin the education process.
It's putting Pivot in front of prospective users earlier, allowing them to become familiar with the technology before formal onboarding.
Management specifically identified patient uncertainty as one of the major barriers to insulin pump adoption.
Now MODD has built a tool aimed directly at that problem.
53,000+ Downloads Create Another Opening
There's another piece of today's announcement that caught my attention.
Pivot is also being added to Level One: A Diabetes Game, a free Type 1 diabetes education game developed by Relevate Health Games.
Since launching in April 2025, Level One has already been downloaded more than 53,000 times.
That's an existing audience already learning about insulin management.
Now Pivot becomes part of that experience.
Once players work through concepts such as carbohydrate counting and mealtime insulin dosing, they'll be able to experience how those same decisions work with the Pivot pump.
That's another potential touchpoint between MODD and the very people who may eventually consider pump therapy.
The Pieces Are Starting to Stack Up
This is why MODD remains high on my watchlist.
We're no longer looking at a company with simply an interesting medical device.
Pivot is FDA cleared.
MODD is preparing for its full commercial launch.
And now the company is putting additional tools in place designed to support education, onboarding and ultimately adoption.
That's the part I'm watching closely.
A medical device can have impressive technology, but commercialization ultimately comes down to getting the product into the hands of patients and convincing them to use it.
MODD appears to understand that.
Today's announcement adds another piece to the commercial strategy at a time when several parts of the Pivot story are beginning to come together.
For a small-cap company at this stage of its rollout, I think that's worth paying attention to.
Keep MODD firmly on your watchlist.
To your success,

Michael Reece
